25 Spanish words you already know

Written by Maria Fernandez

There are hundreds of Spanish words that look identical in English. Throughout the pronunciation movies in this Spanish for Beginners course I've introduced you to many of them.

Those words are not only useful for practicing the Spanish pronunciation, but they're also great for boosting your motivation because you can learn them in no time.

Their pronunciation, however, is often quite different in both languages. To sound like a native, you must always avoid the temptation to pronounce them like in English.

To help you build your vocabulary fast, here are 25 words you'll come across in the pronunciation movies in this course. Click on them to hear them said by native speakers. To master them, compare how they sound in Spanish to the way you say them in English:

actor

canal

horizontal

horrible
