Games (or exercises):

  • Speaking games: record yourself saying words and sentences, then compare your pronunciation with a native speaker's.
  • Listening games: identify the word or picture that we're talking about in Spanish.
  • Reading games: link a Spanish word or sentence with its English translation.
  • Writing games: type in words or numbers that you hear in Spanish, and you get feedback on your answer.
  • Against the clock games: many of those games are played against the clock, so you have to be quick!
  • All games in our cdrom include many of the Spanish words and/or sentences you've learned so far, not just those from the last lesson.
  • Play the games over and over again - the Spanish words and sentences that come up are different every time you play them.
  • Click here to see samples from the games.

Record your own voice and play it back:

  • The tape recorder can be found on all the lessons. You can use it to practice saying the Spanish words and sentences you're learning, and to compare your pronunciation with a native Spanish speaker's.
  • You can record up to 30 seconds at a time, as many times as you want.
  • You can also record yourself in the speaking games, where you say the Spanish words and sentences on the screen and then compare your pronunciation with a native Spanish speaker's.
  • All speaking games are played against the clock, so you have to come up with the right Spanish word or sentence in a limited time, which gets shorter as you progress but is generous at the beginning.
  • You need a microphone to use the tape recorder, and to record yourself in the speaking games.

Talking Spanish-English English-Spanish dictionary:

  • Our cdrom contains an interactive talking dictionary with over 800 illustrated Spanish headwords, all of them with example sentences in both English and Spanish.
  • All the Spanish words and sentences in our dictionary have sound, and you can listen to them over and over again.
  • There are entries for both English and Spanish words.
  • The Spanish sound in this dictionary has been recorded exclusively by Spanish native speakers.
  • This dictionary has an advanced search button which allows you to find words even if you are unsure of the correct Spanish spelling, including accents.
