Would you like to learn Spanish but aren’t thrilled about the idea of sitting down to study it? Are you afraid you might get too bored before getting anywhere? If so, you’re far from being alone, or wrong.
Boredom is indeed lurking around every corner when we study a foreign language. It threatens our motivation and burns out our energy. The great thing, however, is that there are many ways of keeping it at bay. Here are 5 tips on how to do it:
Watch TV in Spanish, or with Spanish subtitles. Many TV series, movies and documentaries on dvd come with a Spanish audio track, and Spanish and English subtitles. Dvds will help you learn Spanish fast, especially if you want to develop your listening skills.
Read the Spanish version of the magazines you like is also a good way to learn Spanish and enjoy it. People, Elle, Men’s Health, Readers’ Digest, Cosmopolitan and dozens more can easily be found in Spanish.
You can also learn Spanish by listening to audio magazines. The best thing about it is that you can do it anywhere: while commuting, cooking, traveling, etc.
Listen to Latin music and learn the lyrics of your favorite songs is a surprisingly effective way to learn Spanish while having fun. You can easily learn hundreds of words and phrases much faster than with many Spanish courses.
Another great way to learn Spanish is by playing computer games - in Spanish, that is. There are computer games aimed at those learning Spanish, and also the Spanish version of games like: Atlantis, Toy Story, Spider-Man, Pocahontas, etc.
