What are these subtitles like? These are the type of subtitles you see at movie theaters when you go to see a foreign movie, only here they're in Spanish, like the sound. They run across one or two lines at the bottom of the screen and are usually in white. These subtitles give you a good proportion of the dialog. Most of these dvds also come with English subtitles.

What are these subtitles like? These are optional subtitles mainly aimed at the deaf, but great for language learners. They give you a larger proportion of the dialog than movie theater subtitles. They take up several lines at the bottom of the screen and use a variety of colors to indicate different speakers.
There is a fair number of dvds in Spanish with subtitles for deaf people (español para sordos). Here's a sample:
